How important are struts on a car? I know mine are in bad condition, but am I damaging other parts of my car?

Also, the car is in effect bumpy on the road, should I also ask a mechanic about springs?
(My car is a 95 Ford Safe conduct gt)

Struts are very mighty. Bad struts cause wheel alignments to go out of whack, meaning hasty failure of the tires, they slow down the rebound and compression of the proceed from, meaning it will also affect handling greatly.
