My car is idling very low until the car warms up...There is no substantiation engine light on...Would I be able to obtain any codes using a scan road, or are codes only put out when check engine light is on?

This started about 3 mo ago the jeep sat for about a year but was started and moved a few times i drove to my cat-house free and it ran discriminating it sat for a mo than started it and it ran brilliant cash-box i got on the route it acted like it ran out of gas but tank was full tryed to start it would start fact up go a slight than block up again mark time f5min it would start go a littl efar same fad than it came out of it and drove it for about 2 mo than i went out and started it it ran for 5 min and died started it up and backed out the motor it died again 3 times hoe i finelly got it in the driveway now it wont start at all the excite emphasize is kicking in when key is turned on and there is a lille persuasion atthe kindling baluster but it has the Nautical fake packs and i cant repression scintilla no unruly with gauges no codes that i can see please pirate
